Moving the shelving unit and other items outside today… This is not my shelving unit, but close enough…

8/1/21. Sunday

9:00-10:15 – I’m up at 9:00 and head straight into the bathroom for a shower. Lotion. T-shirt and yoga pants. Light make-up. Re-pack my toiletries and everything else I brought to B.’s and load my car.

10:00-1:00 – B. gets Starbucks and we have patio coffee in B.’s backyard. I eat a nectarine that I packed for breakfast. Then, I leave.

1:00-2:30 – Home and I unpack my overnight bag and lunch bag, start a load of laundry, and clean the kitchen. I also make my coffee for tomorrow.

2:30 – 3:30 – Lunch time so I have a turkey burger patty. I add sliced tomato, onion, mustard, and Worchestershire sauce.  It is sooo good! I read a couple Money Diaries while I eat lunch.

3:30-5:30 – Blog posts

5:30-6:30 – Gardening. I sweep my patio and trim dead leaves from some of my plants. I listen to To Live and Die in LA.

L. returns from work then leaves for dinner with her friends J. and N. They have reservations at the Odyssey.

6:30-8:30 – I spend this time clearing all remaining items out of the garage, including my shelving unit. The contractor is coming tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. to pressure wash the garage floor. This is the first step in the 4-step staining process and I’m really excited about it.  I move everything out of the garage and into my backyard, where the trash cans are located, and it’s a big mess.  Although there’s not a lot to move, it is actually very difficult, especially pulling the shelving unit and the heavy box of extra wood flooring that I have on hand for repairs. When I’m done, I take out my trash cans. I listen to What Next.

8:30-9:00 – Gardening again. I finish trimming the rest of the dead leaves from my plants. I listen to the Slow Home Podcast.

9:00-9:30 –I take the dog for a walk. I listen to the Culture Gabfest.

9:30-11:00 – I read a Money Diary then do a 40-minute Insanity - Plyometric workout. After I finish the 40-minute workout, I do a 15-minute Kathy Smith Ab workout.

11:00-2:00 – I spend this time working on my Canvas shells at College No. 1 and the last week of material for my Summer session class at College No. 2. When I designed this accelerated 6-week class a few months ago, I ‘gaffed’ the last week, so I tighten it up, revise the assignments, and add more content.  I post a special announcement to the Home Page, informing the students that the semester ends next Thursday so they will need to take the Final and complete all assignments by Thursday, instead of their regularly scheduled Sunday.

-L. returns from her outing and we discuss her evening.

Once I’m finished with College No. 2,  I re-design the “Home Pages” for the two classes I’m teaching at College No. 1. I still only have 5 students enrolled in Specialty Class #2 so it is very likely this class won’t run. In keeping with my “economy of time” philosophy, it doesn’t make sense to expend time and energy on this class right now.

2:00-3:00 – Nighttime routine. Bed. I set my alarm for 6:45 because I have a welder scheduled to look at my patio tomorrow morning at 8:00. The bottoms of several of the metal trellis pillars have rusted through and it’s a miracle the contraption is still standing. I need the welder to reinforce the pillars and he’s coming tomorrow to give me an estimate.
