Spray painting terra cotta pots today…

5/20/21. Thursday.

8:00 – L. leaves for her Summer Workshop Training in Monrovia.

9:30-10:30 – Up and I go downstairs to greet the dog. L. already took her out, but the dog likes routine so I take her out again.  She doesn’t need to go potty so we return inside, cheese for her, coffee for me. I go upstairs and read We Came, We Saw, We Left.

10:30-11:00 – I check my Target order – a few things still haven’t arrived – and verify it’s en route.  Then, I make an appointment for Botox and Juviderm on Monday, my first appointment in 2 years.  I need to get a few tasks out of the way before California removes the mask requirement (June 15). I feel more comfortable wearing a mask and totally see the benefits.  Prior to Covid, I contracted bronchitis every year, along with various sinus infections, sore throats, etc.; however, I haven’t been sick in 18 months and I know it’s due to masking. So, I’m not looking forward to running errands withOUT a mask.  I’m going to try and complete as many tasks/chores/longstanding to-do items as possible in the coming weeks.

11:00-11:30 – I check emails from College No. 2 and reply to a few students.

11:30-1:00 – Shower. Wash and blow-dry hair. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform. Full make-up. I start a load of laundry. I listen to The Line.

L. returns from her training, then retires to her room for a nap. I start a load of laundry.

1:00-2:00 – I heat up the pork stew I made last night and watch Those Who Wish Me Dead. Angelia Jolie still looks incredible, but the movie is dumb.

2:00-2:30 – I move the cars out of the garage and make sure there is nothing surrounding the shelving units that are being removed today.

2:30-3:00 – Continue half-heartedly watching the movie, but eventually give up. B. texts me that he and his friend are en route to pick up the shelving units. I text back then open the garage door to make everything as easy as possible for them.

L. leaves for work.

3:00-4:30 – B. and friend arrive. I come out to the garage a few minutes later to say hello – B. says he didn’t think I was home – and ask if B. can pry a power strip off the wall. Success.  I return inside, but stay downstairs in case they need anything. I’m looking for storage containers for my Halloween/Xmas decorations and do several quick searches. B. and friend need tape, so I pull it and go out to the garage. Somehow, and it looks like a really difficult task, B. and friend are able to load 4 shelving units onto the back of B.’s friend’s truck!! The shelving units are out!  I’m so grateful B.’s friend took them. The garage is almost cleared.

5:00 – 8:00 – I set up a “spray-painting station” in the garage using various sections of cardboard and spray paint 4 terra cotta pots. I leave the garage door and garage side door open, double mask, and wear safety goggles. I periodically walk away to avoid continuously breathing in paint fumes. I listen to The Line.

L. returns and starts working on assignments.

8:00-8:30 – I take the dog for a walk. I listen to The Line.

8:30-9:30 – I can smell paint fumes in the house so I move all of the terra cotta pots that I just painted outside and open several windows downstairs. I clean up the “spray painting station” and put the cardboard away.

9:30-10:00 – I read a Money Diary

10:30-11:30 – I do a 15-minute Insanity-Cardio Abs workout, followed by a 40 minute Insanity – Cardio Recovery workout.

11:30 – 12:00 – Recover. I have champagne and check my French Cinema class for assignments. Then, I show L. the storage units I’ve selected for the holiday decorations.

12:00-1:30 – L. gets a phone call from J., a friend who is having a mental health crisis, and leaves immediately.  L. and J. end up at N.’s house so they can talk it out.

1:30 – 2:30 - L. returns and we debrief about J. After breaking up with his girlfriend, he’s extremely upset.

2:30-3:00 – Kitchen duty – there is not much to do.

3:00-3:45 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
