Day 1 - LA County Dept of Health MANDATES indoor masking
“Patio Coffee” with B…not quite my backyard, but close enough…
7/17/21. Saturday.
8:30 – 9:00 - My alarm goes off, but I lay in bed until 8:45, then go downstairs to say good morning to the animal. It’s early for her and she’s still asleep, so I rub her tummy three times to wake her up. She grabs her tennis ball and we go outside. I water my potted jasmine plants while she goes potty and we return inside: coffee for me and cheese for her. I go upstairs.
9:00-10:00 – Shower. Lotion. Tank top and shorts. Light make-up. I listen to PBS Newshour and Organize 365.
10:00-10:30 – I take out my braids and listen to an Air Talk segment.
10:30-2:30 – B. arrives for “patio coffee” with Starbucks and a croissant for me; donuts for him. I set up my oscillating fan before he arrived and we have coffee in my backyard and catch up. I’ve been out of town this week and B. was busy hosting his sister and her husband [M&L]. One of their outings involved Knotts Berry Farm, followed by dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Huntington Beach – I definitely want to hear about Knotts.
2:30–3:00 - By 2:30, it’s over 100 degrees outside so B. and I take it inside and go upstairs to my room to watch TV.
3:30-4:30 – Cocktail hour and we finish catching up and coordinate our schedules for next week.
4:30-5:30 – B. and I watch the first episode of Catch and Kill. L. and I have already seen it, but I don’t mind watching it again because I missed a few things the first time around – this series is really good. B. recently finished listening to the Catch and Kill podcast, but appreciates the documentary as he says he’s able to put a face to the voice.
5:30-7:30 – B. is getting hungry and I have a Presto Pasta coupon so we phone in our orders. I get the Eggplant Parmigana and substitute the pasta with a salad and B. gets the Italian Sampler. He picks up the food and everything is surprisingly good. I’m pretty sure eating this late at night will affect my weight (sigh). We watch the second episode of Catch and Kill.
7:30-9:00 – I clean up and suggest that we watch Surviving R. Kelly after having watched a documentary about that pig, Harvey Weinstein. B. isn’t familiar with the R. Kelly mess, but he’s up for it, so we watch the first episode. I forgot how appalling R. Kelly is – L. and I have already seen the series, but it’s still disturbing to watch a pedophile in action. And this went on for 20 years!!
9:30 – 11:00 - B. leaves around 9:30 and I start reading Formation, before accidentally falling asleep.
11:00-12:00 – Kitchen duty and I ready my coffee for tomorrow.
12:00-1:00 – Blog posts
1:00-2:00 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
