Day 20 - LA County Dept. of Public Health mandates indoor masking and OUTDOOR masking at large events

At Harbor Cove today…

At Harbor Cove today…

9/4/21. Saturday

7:30 –9:30 -  I wake up, but go back to sleep.

8:00 – L. leaves for work. She’ll be home at 4:00 today, only to leave for The Little Door Restaurant with Be, one of her newer friends/friendships that L. has been cultivating.

9:30-10:00 – I go downstairs to say good morning to the animal, but she’s up and running around.  Although I think L. already took her out, I continue with our routine and we go outside. I water a few of my plants while the dog goes potty and we return inside: coffee for me and pieces of gross, ground turkey patty for her. I go upstairs and hang my load of laundry.

10:00-11:00 – Shower. Spa Day. Lotion. I listen to By the Book.  I put on my bathing suit, followed by yoga pants and a T-shirt, then grab my beach bag and lunch bag and leave for Harbor Cove.

11:00-12:30 – Driving. Traffic is horrible. I listen to Slates Spoiler Specials

12:30 – 4:00 - At Harbor Cove!! It’s a bright, sunny day, but very chilly.  I keep my yoga pants on and add a sweatshirt. It’s sooo nice to be out of the house after this horrible week of work…I don’t care how cold it is.

-I lie down on my beach blanket and take a nap while listening to Martinis and Your Money.

-Awake and I sit in my portable chair and eat my leftovers from Wood Ranch Barbecue while I read Work Won’t Love You Back.  Later, I listen to Best of Both Worlds and Best Laid Plans.

4:00 –5:15 -  It’s getting windy so I call it and leave.

Driving – traffic is a bit better. I listen to West Cork.

5:15-6:15 – Home and I unpack everything then clean the kitchen. L. and Be are at The Little Door.

6:15-8:00 – I eat the last of my chicken and corn-on-the-cob from Woodranch while watching two episodes of White Lotus. I absolutely refuse to do any class work today.

8:00-8:30 – I walk the dog and listen to Today Explained, specifically the episode entitled “The Texas Abortion Law”; then

9:15-10:30 – I do a 1hr Insanity-Max Interval Training workout.

10:30-11:30 – L. returns and we discuss her work day and the Little Door experience she shared with her friend, Be. The restaurant sounds amazing so L. books a reservation for she and I next Saturday.

12:00 – 1:00 – I try to watch a third episode of White Lotus, but end up falling asleep.

The series is…not bad…There are several vignettes and they are all intertwined in some form or fashion.  It resembles the soap operas of yesteryear, except this series has an underlying theme of colonization and explores  disgusting class/race relations. By this I mean that the White Lotus is an elite, exclusive hotel where only privileged, white, entitled, rich  people can afford to stay. It’s no surprise that the guests are horrible to the staff, who are predominantly black and Hawaiian, although the Manager is a gay white guy.  These days, most series have to feature some sort of “who dun it” sub-plot to satisfy the viewership and we find out at Episode 1 that somebody just died at the resort, but we don’t know who.  The series [6 episodes] goes back in time while the audience tries to answer the question, “Who died?”

1:00-2:00 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
