Day 20 since I was injected with the J&J vaccine
Bike ride today…
4/28/21. Wednesday
7:30 –8:00 - I set my alarm for 7:30 this morning, but I need transition time so I lie in bed for another 30 minutes, acclimating.
8:00 – 8:30 - Up and I go downstairs to say good morning to the animal. It’s too early for her, so she’s still asleep. I rub her tummy three times to wake her up. Then, she grabs her toy and we go outside. The fountain isn’t running properly so I grab a screwdriver from the garage to clean it out. The dog goes potty and we return inside – pieces of “Impossible Burger” for her, coffee for me. I go upstairs.
8:30-9:45 – Shower. I sit down in the shower, lean my head back against the tiles, and drink my coffee while I listen to The Daily. Lotion. Bike uniform. Light make-up.
9:45-10:00 – I have some overnight oats and put some apple slices in my bike bag. I fill my Hydroflask.
10:00-11:30 – B. arrives with his bike and we take off. Down McBean, left on Newhall Ranch Road (NRR), and hit the bike path en route toward Magic Mountain. Turn left at the bike path roundabout and ride alongside Magic Mtn. parkway until we emerge on Valencia Blvd. Continue on until we resume the bike path that will avoid heavy traffic and dump us out at the corner of Bouquet Canyon and NRR, at the new Starbucks. We cross Bouquet Canyon to NRR and pick up the bike path behind the Bridgeport homes. We leave the bike path at McBean and cross the street to Scott, then return/enter my neighborhood.
11:30 – 2:30 - B. and I drive to Starbucks and he buys a coffee and croissant for me; coffee and lemon pound cake for him. We return to my house for “Patio Coffee” and talk politics, outside at my patio table.
2:30 – 4:00 - B. leaves. I check email at Colleges No. 1 and 2 and respond to a few students. I check the NY Times headlines (as an instructor, I only have free access to the headlines and a few partial articles) and send L. an article about Covid-19 that she might find interesting [L. is probably sick of receiving information from me]. Then, I send L. the remaining PP slides for Specialty Class No. 1 and 2, so she can format them. I check my French Cinema class to find out our next movie. It’s called Cache and it’s a drama! I don’t have time to watch it today, unfortunately…Next, I go through the paperwork in my Inbox and throw away a few irrelevant items, before scheduling a dental and eye exam for tomorrow.
-I check course content and the Discussion Board for my 6:00 class tomorrow night. Everything is ready to go.
4:00-4:45 – I take the dog for a walk and listen to This is Uncomfortable.
4:45-6:30 – I make “Hamburger Helper” from scratch, using ground turkey, onions, mini elbow pasta, corn, and diced tomatoes. I listen to True Crime Garage. Kitchen duty. I unload and load the dishwasher and prepare my coffee for tomorrow morning. I have a few bites of the Hamburger Helper and save the rest for L.
6:30-7:00 – Upstairs and I straighten my room, select my clothes for tomorrow, and read a Money Diary and Aftermath.
7:00-11:30 – B. returns and we talk and watch the last two episodes of Allen vs. Farrow. He likes it.
11:30-12:30 – Blog posts.
12:30-1:30 – Night time routine. I listen to What a Day. Bed.
