Day 22 - Mask mandate RESCINDED. We do NOT need to wear masks.
Errand Day
The BA2 variant is now a 1/3 of all cases, but the jury’s still out as to whether or not hospitalizations will increase. Finally, Long Covid is starting to appear in some headlines. Apparently, Long Covid doesn’t correlate with severe, mild, or asymptomatic infections…it’s a mystery as to why some people get Long Covid and others don’t. This just in from Dr. Dean Blumberg, UC Davis Children’s Hospital, Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases: ”…preventing infection seems to mitigate Long Covid.” Uh…no shit. If you don’t get the virus, you don’t get Long Covid. Is our Covid news finally reduced to nonsensical sound bites like this? I should add that I actually respect Dr. Blumberg…as I trash him.
Check it…now, there’s Covid gradations. Here’s the spectrum: 1) Acute Covid = you get better in a few weeks; 2) Medium Covid = symptomatic for a month, but gradually improving; or 3) Long Covid = prolonged symptoms for over a month. Which one are you?
Dr. Bloomberg goes onto advocate for full vaccination to prevent any of the “Covids”, but what does fully vaccinated mean anymore? A 2-dose vaccine? Is that enough? Or are you finally fully vaccinated once you get a booster? Do you need a second booster to count as “fully vaccinated?” What about those people on Team J&J? When are they considered fully vaccinated?
3/25/22. Friday
8:00–8:30 – My alarm goes off, but I lie in bed for transition time.
L. and T. are house sitting so she is MIA for the next few days.
8:30-8:45-I go downstairs to say good morning to the animal and note that she pooped in front of the door again (sigh). I rub her tummy and we go outside while I wait for her to do her business. Return inside; coffee for me and cheese for her. I grab a bag of ice and go upstairs.
8:45-9:40 – I sit in the shower, drink my coffee, and put a bag of ice over my eyes, while listening to The Daily. Lotion. I don “Athletic Housewife” attire and apply full make-up.
9:40-10:00 – I drive to my session and listen to The Political Gabfest.
10:00-10:30 – It’s great seeing my therapist and we have a productive session.
10:30-11:00 – One of my New Years intentions involves stopping at Aldis, near my therapist’s office, as this grocery store is frequently referenced by the women in Money Diaries so I take this opportunity to check it out. I eat a donut in my car then enter the store, peruse the aisles, and see some good buys. The few shoppers in the store are masking. I listen to Martinis and Your Money. B. calls while I’m in the store and invites me to dinner at 6:00 pm.
11:00-11:30 – I drop another batch of clothes off at Runway Fashion and hope for the best. I eat leftover barbecued chicken and rice in the car; then
11:30-12:00 – I drop off my plastics at the recycling center. I’m listening to What Next the entire time.
12:00-12:40- I drive to a Chase ATM and pull out $100 for the week for gas. I get a slight discount at my gas station if I pay in cash. I listen to Happier and continue with that podcast for the next hour.
12:40-1:00 – I get gas ($40)
1:00-1:30 – I get a Starbucks coffee and update my bullet journal in the parking lot.
1:30-2:45 – Drive home and I read the Nature Fix
2:45-3:00- I return to Runway to collect my clothes. If you don’t check in with them the same day you drop off your clothes, they return your clothes and give you nothing. With this batch, staff only took 3 items and offer me $7.00 OR $10.40 in store credit. I take the store credit.
3:00-3:45 – I go to Home Depot and buy stain for my pallet project and two plants.
3:45-4:00 – Drive home.
4:00-4:45 – I read Nature Fix; then
4:45-5:30 – I take a brief nap.
5:30-6:00 – I freshen my make-up and leave for B.’s house. I listen to What a Day.
6:00-10:30 – B. and I have salmon, baked beans, broccoli and rice with Parmesan cheese, and sit outside, at his patio table, for dinner. After dinner, we watch an excellent movie called The Weekend Away. We make plans to go on a bike ride tomorrow morning and I leave.
10:30-11:00 – Driving home.
11:00-12:30 – Blog post, but;
12:30-1:15 - I accidentally fall asleep.
1:15-2:30 – I make a batch of scrambled eggs with cheese and pace Picante sauce, eat a few bites, then store two portions. I also boil eggs and eat one. Kitchen duty and I ready my coffee and my bike bag. I graze throughout on some of L.’s leftover Indian food and her pasta. I go for broke and also have some cheese and crackers. Dairy and carbs at this late hour? Not good.
2:30-3:00 – I pick out my biking outfit and do a bullet journal, then fold a load of towels, and tidy my room.
3:00-3:30 – Nighttime routine. Bed. I set my alarm for 8:00
