Day 24 - Los Angeles lifts its vaccine mandate. A vax card is no longer required.

L. and I watched Bad Vegan tonight…

4/23/22. Saturday

7:30-I had originally planned to go on the Botany Hike at Placerita Canyon at 9:00 a.m. today [recall that Birdwatching is only on the first two Saturdays of the month], but I’m too tired. It’s not going to happen. I go back to sleep.

9:00-9:30-I’m officially awake so I go downstairs to say good morning to the dog. She’s awake and propped against the child-gate, waiting for me. We go outside, straight away, and I stand around waiting for her to do her business. Return inside and coffee for me, cheese for her.

9:30-10:00-I take my coffee outside, sweep the patio, and pick up dog poop. Then, I go upstairs.

10:00-11:00-Shower. I sit in the shower, drink the rest of my coffee, and ice my eyes while listening to More Happier. Lotion. Light make-up. I put on workout clothes.

11:00-11:30-B. and “Gus” arrive to hang my pallet. Gus takes measurements, then the two of them leave for Home Depot to get supplies.

11:50-12:30-I eat two leftover coconut shrimp and get in a quick 30-min Insanity Max-Cardio workout while they’re gone.

12:30-1:15-B. and Gus return and hang the pallet outside, on the wall, above the astroturf. It looks amazing! B. will install the mason jars in the coming days and they will serve as pots (jars) for the succulents I’m going to buy.

1:15-3:00-Gus leaves and B. and I talk politics outside, at my patio table. B. leaves.

3:00-4:00-I listen to my last lecture for Specialty Class 1B. L. will have to do a splice-and-dice on this lecture.

4:00-5:30-L. is working at The Club today and texts me that she has nothing to eat at home when she gets off work. I offer to pick up take-out and we decide on fish tacos at Fish Tales, a restaurant around the corner. L. calls in the order.

I grade another paper then leave to pick up the order.

5:30-6:00-I pick up dinner, return home, and eat a fish taco.

6:00-8:00-I spend this block of time grading papers. L. surfaces and is able to make the edits for my last lecture. She suggests we watch the Bad Vegan series at 9:00.

9:00-12:00-L. and I watch two episodes of Bad Vegan and talk about the show throughout. You know those irritating people who talk during movies when all you want to do is watch the show? Uh…that’s L. and I. At least we’re BOTH doing it. I thoroughly enjoyed Bad Vegan and it put a positive spin on what would have been a mundane day spent grading papers. Thanks L.!

12:00-12:45-I’m exhausted. Nighttime routine. Bed.
