Day 26 - Mask mandate RESCINDED. We do NOT need to wear masks.
The FDA announced that Americans age 50 and older need yet another booster shot. If you had the initial 2-dose vaccine, you need another 2 doses of the same shit, from two years ago, to be competitive… oops, that’s capitalism lingo…we’re talking health care here and it’s not a competition… Since Big Pharma, the shady FDA, and the incompetent CDC are so closely aligned, it’s hard to tell where capitalism ends and health care begins in this gross “iron triangle.”
Apparently, another 2 doses only gives you a “Get Out of Jail Free Card” from the hospital because, don’t forget, even with the vaccines and boosters you can still contract and transmit the virus. Recall that the shelf life of these vaccines appears to be slipping, from 6 months to 4 months, to 2 months??? Maybe the vaccine has always only given us a 2-month window of protection…we have no way of knowing. What do you expect when you keep injecting us with the OG (original gangsta) Covid-19 vaccine from TWO years ago? The virus has morphed and transformed into thousands of variants by now and Big Pharma is still using the same vaccine. And let’s be clear…the vaccine, if you want to call it a vaccine, only serves as protection from hospitalization and death…you can still get Long Covid. Like I’ve said in earlier posts, you’re better served walking around with a perpetual IV drip of the vaccine on wheels.
But, we’re still waiting for the CDC to weigh in on the second booster and my fellow Americans are on pins and needles (not! – nobody listens to the CDC anymore…they’re a joke) regarding what Rochelle will say. Recall that after one of the Airline CEOs started whining to the CDC about Flight Staff missing work because they contracted Covid and were actually sick, Rochelle made the proclamation that ALL employees, everywhere, had to return to the grind within 5 days of contracting Covid, without a Covid test. Gotta keep that economy humming even if you have Covid and you’re contagious.
Rochelle couldn’t mandate employees to take a Covid test for clearance before returning to work because…there aren’t any. The Biden Administration set aside TWO Covid tests for every household in America, which you are only able to access if you go online, find the website, complete the form, and pray that our bankrupt US Postal Service will somehow get the tests to our mail boxes. Why bother? The tests are inaccurate anyway.
3/29/22. Tuesday
6:00-6:30-My alarm goes off but I lie in bed for transition time. I’m not going to the Charter High School today because it’s the first day of the Spring session for my City hiking group and I don’t want to miss it. I made previous arrangements with Mr. G and he’s going to cover my class - the students are listening to a pre-recorded lecture.
6:30-6:45-I go downstairs to say good morning to the animal and rub her tummy until she wakes up. Outside we go, while I stand around waiting for the dog to do her business. Return inside and coffee for me, cheese for her. I unload the dishwasher.
7:00-8:00-Shower. I sit in the shower, drink my coffee, ice my eyes, and listen to The Daily. Lotion. Light make-up. I put on my hiking uniform: cargo pants, aqua athletic, short-sleeved shirt, sweatshirt, tennis shoes.
8:00-8:20-I leave and listen to What a Day along the way.
8:30-10:30-Today’s hike is meeting at The Community Gardens at Central Park. I’m the first one here so I’m afraid that’s it’s canceled but eventually around 30 people arrive! It’s a big group this season. Renee, the coordinator, is here; she sure can ‘work a room’ and remembers everyone’s names. The English couple from my Striders walking group is also here. This particular trail starts off flat then winds around the mountain, up to the top, where the water tower is located. Eventually, I pass everyone and I’m in front. It’s not a contest, but I happen to be the 5th one to the water tower although at one point, I think my chest is going to explode. As always, the views are incredible! This group has been on a 3-week hiatus so it feels great to be hiking again. I eat some pear slices on the trail.
10:30-11:00-I hike back down the mountain, get in my car, and drive home. I eat more pear slices in the car.
11:00-12:30- I’m starving so I eat a poached egg on gluten free toast and prepare two spinach salads for the rest of the week. I start reading The Invisible Corset for upcoming Bookclub Brunch with my Mom and Lexi, but I’m so exhausted after the hike that I keep falling asleep. I’ve said this in previous posts, but ever since I contracted Long Covid, I need a nap after almost any physical exertion.
12:30-2:30 - Nap. I’m so tired I don’t even bother to change out of my hiking clothes.
2:30-3:30-Awake, and I take the dog for a walk; then
4:00-5:00 – I heat up a can of organic chili beans and eat them for dinner while I read Invisible Corset.
5:00-10:00 – My goal is to complete five blog posts tonight so I can finally move into March with my entries since I’m behind. I’ve become much better at completing long stretches of “deep work” after reading Cal Newport’s book, Deep Work. Like anything, sustained focus takes practice and a commitment to avoid distraction. I take breaks along the way and reward myself periodically with a couple of podcasts that I really want to hear - Beyond Maintenance and True Crime Garage - as well as another chapter of Invisible Corset. I’m able to maintain my focus and keep writing while the podcasts are playing.
Finished.
10:00-11:00 - Long day today….well, not really, but it feels like it. Nighttime routine. Bed.
