Day 34 - Governor Newsom reinstates the mask mandate in California

B and I were at the Arboretum today…

1/18/22. Tuesday

Raining.

6:00-6:30 – I had every intention of hiking at Quigley Canyon with the group today, but it’s foggy, rainy, and drizzling.  My alarm goes off and I still get up…maybe the weather will clear in the next couple of hours? Terrible cramps again so I take two Advil and go downstairs to get my coffee.  The dog is sound asleep on the couch and I tiptoe around the kitchen, trying not to wake her up.  She eventually saunters over to me for kisses and cuddles as I’m warming my coffee in the microwave. I bend down to pet her and we go outside. It’s raining so I stand under the canopy while I wait for the dog to go potty.

6:30-8:00- Upstairs and I go back to bed, waiting for the Advil to kick in. I listen to The Daily and take out my braids while I’m lying down.

8:00-9:00 – I read Friendshipping, then update my bullet journal.

9:30-10:30 – Kitchen duty and I make another cup of coffee.

10:30-12:00 – Shower. Lotion. I put on my cargo pants and a sweater. Light make-up.

12:00-1:00 – B. arrives and we drive to the Arboretum to redeem the two free tickets I scored on 1/3/22, when I was at death’s door. The Arboretum has a “Free Ticket Day” program.  If you log onto the Arboretum website, on the first Saturday of the month, between 9:00 -10:00 a.m., there’s an opportunity to purchase free tickets for the third Tuesday of the same month. If this sounds confusing, it is. Suffice it to say, I got the tickets.

1:00-3:00 – B. and I tour the Arboretum. It’s foggy and wet, but the rain stopped. Crews were hard at work taking down the equipment from the Arboretum’s  Xmas  Lightscapes production that L. and I attended in December. I haven’t been at the Arboretum during daylight hours for some time…it was great walking through the botanical gardens again and looking at the peacocks.

3:00-4:30 – It starts sprinkling so B. and I leave and drive to the Fireman Sandwich Shop in Santa Clarita to get some subs. Then, we drive to B’s house; and

4:30-7:30 – continue watching The Servant. Between episodes, B. asks me how I’m feeling and I reply, “Umm…I think I have Long Covid…”  B. says, “Yeah…I think I heard something about that on the news the other day…” We start watching the next episode.

7:30-8:15 – I introduce B. to And Just Like That, and we watch one episode.

8:15-9:00 – B. drives me home.

9:00-11:00 – Blog posts

11:00-12:00 – I upload my blog posts.

12:00-2:00 – I start listening to the AUDIO lectures for my Core Class to identify outdated material or assignments that no longer apply. I make it through the 2.5 hour Chapter 2 AUDIO lecture AND the 1-hour AUDIO lecture for Chapter 3. The editing is minimal and L. only needs to cut 60 seconds from the Chapter 2 AUDIO lecture-PART II. I add it to the list of edits that I’m compiling for L.

2:00-2:30 – Nighttime routine. Bed. I set my alarm for 6:00.
