Day 41-Los Angeles lifts its vaccine mandate. A vax card is no longer necessary.

To hell with the standing thermometer…this one retails for $3,919.00…what a waste of money and resources. They’ll be polluting our landfills in the very near future…

On this day, California has had almost 90,000 Covid-19 deaths, the most of any state. However, we have the lowest death rate compared to the other nine, most populous states in the country. Except for the Blacks - they continue to fall out in droves and nobody wants to reference them in the Covid totals because they’re a killjoy, particularly for the lamestream media as they peddle their feel-good pieces about learning to live with Covid. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, Dorothy.

While the Sacramento Bee is singing the praises of Hotel Covid California, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health reports four new deaths today, for a grand total of 32,000 deaths. No…that’s not a typo…you read it right. One-third of all California Covid-19 deaths have occurred in my county, alone. You see why I don’t take public transit?

5/10/22. Tuesday

4:45-5:15 - My alarm goes off, but I lie in bed for transition time.

5:15-5:30 - I’m up so I go downstairs to say good morning to the dog, but she’s asleep and out of it, per usual. Eventually, we make it outside and I check my plants briefly while I wait for her to go potty. Return inside and I warm up my coffee; cheese for her. I grab a bag of ice and return upstairs.

5:30-6:20 - Shower. I sit in the shower, lean my head back against the tiles, drink my coffee, and ice my eyes. Lotion. I grab a blouse and pants and put them on, then load all my bags into the car. I’m out the door by 6:20.

6:20-7:30 - Driving. Traffic is horrible. I listen to Best of Both Worlds and Burnout and put my makeup on in the car. I’m in a bad mood today.

7:30-7:45 - When I get to the parking lot, I take extra time to review my lecture notes. I am DONE signing in at the Office. Why did the secretary tell me I was supposed to sign in daily? Only the subs do that… I also noticed that I’m the only teacher who ever uses the standing thermometer. Signing in and taking my temperature at the office, every day, eats up the time I could be sitting in my car. I walk through the school gates with the rest of the students. F*@k it.

8:00-9:30 - Class is in session. It’s a straight lecture today for the entire 90 minutes. When I first started teaching at the Charter School, Mr. G was in his classroom every morning, waiting for me - the classroom and equipment were ready to go. That started slipping in April. Now, I arrive to a locked classroom [two days per week] and I was never given keys. I have to beg other teachers in the surrounding area to let me in. Sometimes, none of the teachers are in their classrooms and I’m left standing around for several minutes until someone takes pity on me and finally opens the door to the classroom.

9:30-9:45 - Class dismissed. I see Mr. G in the hallway, after I leave the classroom, and he confirms that he got my note and will cover my class on Thursday.

9:45-11:00 - Driving. Traffic is still horrible. I listen to more of the Burnout podcast.

11:00-12:20 - Back in town and I stop at Kohls to buy several “Athletic Housewife” outfits and some underwear in conjunction with my Curated Closet project.

12:20-1:00 - I get gas. It’s at $5.83 per gallon; I pay $40 to fill up my tank.

2:30-3:30 - I attend a CalSTRS Webinar addressing my Cash Balance retirement debacle. Knowledge is power… If I don’t understand the information being conveyed, what good is knowledge? All of this is so confusing.

3:30-6:00 - I take a nap.

6:00-7:00 - I start a load of laundry and start packing for my South Dakota trip.

7:00-8:00 - I take the dog for a walk.

8:00-9:00 - I return to packing.

9:00-10:00 - Kitchen duty.

10:45-11:45 - I do a 15-minute, Insanity Max-Ab workout and a 30-minute, Insanity Max - Power workout.

11:45-12:45 - I color my hair

12:45-1:15 - Shower and I wash the color out of my hair.

1:15-2:45 - I braid my hair.

2:45-3:30 - Nighttime routine. Bed.
