Day 5 - Mask mandate REINSTATED by the LA County Dept. of Health

Some days, not much happens…

2/20/22. Sunday

Another beautiful day!

9:30-10:00 – I wake up naturally so I go downstairs to say good morning to the animal. I sit next to her for kisses and cuddles and rub her tummy, until I notice that she pooped right in front of the doggie door.  She was right there!  Another three inches and she would have been outside! I cut the kisses and cuddles short and cue her to go outside, then I wait for her to go potty. Return inside and coffee for me; cheese for her. I go back outside and sit at my patio table.

The birds are bathing and playing in my fountain so I take a moment to watch them flitting and singing.  In the process, I identify two Lesser Goldfinches. I just want to enjoy these few moments because I really love birds, but the dog continuously rushes the fountain, scaring the birds and making them fly away. Every time they return to bathing, the dog rushes the fountain again. This happens three times, until the dog pauses to projectile vomit at my feet, then jumps on my robe, ruining it with her muddy paws. I return inside (sigh).

10:00-10:30 – I read a Money Diary.

-L. leaves for her private art lesson. When the lesson is over, L. will report for her shift at the Art Studio.

10:30-11:45-bullet journal

11:45-12:15 – I start a load of laundry; fold a batch of cloth napkins; empty my bathroom trash; finish cutting some old T-shirts into rags to use for cleaning and dishes; read through three news articles that B. left for me; and unload the dishwasher.

12:15-1:30 – Shower. Spa day. I sit in the shower, ice my eyes, and listen to Slow Living. Lotion. I put on my “Athletic Housewife” uniform: LuLu Lemon leggings, a hot pink sports bra, and a T-back pink and cream floral tank top over the sports bra.

1:30-2:30 – The storage space on my Ipad is full so I spend this hour deleting old podcasts to make room for new ones.

2:30-3:00 – I take a break to have chips, carrots, and hummus at my patio table.

3:30-4:00 – I take the dog for a walk and listen to Sounds True

4:00-4:30 – I sit on my bed and mentally prepare for my upcoming Insanity Max workout.  It’s called Friday Fight and it’s the most difficult workout.  I’m really dreading it.

-L. returns from her work day and takes a nap.

4:30-5:15 – I do a 30-minute Insanity Max – Friday Fight workout.

5:15-6:00 – It looks like rain so while I’m steaming a bowl of carrots for dinner, I bring in all of my patio cushions and a few items from my patio table so they don’t get soaked. I pick up the dog poop and quickly put my trashcans at the curb.

A large cardboard box was delivered to L. three weeks ago and it’s been sitting in the garage all this time.  I’m assuming the box contains art supplies, so I take a moment to open it so I can break down the box and put the cardboard pieces in the recycling trash can. This takes some time and when I’m finally able to remove the item, I see that it’s a huge, industrial cookie sheet that appears to bake between 50 and 75 cookies at a time. Uh…ok. I put it in the sink.

I periodically assess the garage to see if L. needs more storage, or supplies, or an item that will help her creative process.  Tonight, while I’m surveying the garage, I see that the dog shredded a corner of one of L.’s throw rugs, so I trim all of the loose strings and repair the throw rug as best I can. I listen to Reveal – Who Has Power and How Do They Wield It regarding the difficulties around firing police officers.

6:00-7:00 – I have steamed carrots for dinner and add one of the salads I made yesterday while I read Professional Troublemaker for Bookclub.  I listen to This American Life because I don’t need to concentrate while I’m reading since I hate this book.

7:00-7:40 – I have two Sees candies and update my bullet journal while I listen to Spooked.

7:40-9:00 – Blog post. When I finish, I reward myself with another episode of Spooked, and;

9:00-10:00 – continue writing more blog posts.

10:00-12:00 – Even more blog posts and I listen to Southern Fried Crime.

12:00-1:00 – I listen to Case File – the Zodiac Killer series while I work on one last blog post.

1:00-1:30 –Oops!  I accidentally fall asleep.

1:30-2:00 – I take my contacts out and wash my face. Then, I go downstairs for kitchen duty. I ready my coffee and take the dog out.

2:00-3:45 – I get my second wind and work on another blog post, while I listen to Crime Junkie.

3:45-4:00 – Bed.
