Day 56-Governor Newsom reinstates the mask mandate in California

Some days nothing much happens…

A new study from Scrips examining cardio-vascular outcomes for 11 million Veterans one year after a Covid 19 infection was just released.  Researchers found that the risk of 20 different heart and vessel maladies was substantially increased for those who had Covid 19 a year earlier compared with those who did NOT.  The risk rose in accordance with Covid severity and extended to heart attacks, arrhythmia, strokes, cardiac arrest, and more. Even people who never went to the hospital had more cardiovascular disease then those who were never infected. A cardiologist at Scrips said the results were stunning and worse than expected. The study is published in Nature Medicine.

Early data from Israel also showed similar results. Doctors are concerned and expect to see skyrocketing cardiovascular disease rates in the next 5 to 10 years.

In light of the above study [sarcasm emoji here], Governor Newsom and the Governor of Nevada are dropping mask requirements for their states next week.

2/9/22. Wednesday

4:30 a.m. – I’m awake. I set up several podcasts from Organize 365 and go back to sleep.

9:30-10:00 – I’m awake for real, but I stay in bed.

10:00-10:30 – I throw on yoga pants and a T-shirt and go downstairs to greet the animal. She’s taking a nap on the couch and rolls over on her back so I can rub her tummy. I sit next to her for kisses and cuddles, then cue her to go outside.  She grabs a tennis ball and we head to the backyard where I stand around and wait for her to go potty. Return inside and coffee for me and pieces of turkey for her. I unload the dishwasher and go upstairs.

10:30-12:00 – Blog posts.

12:00-1:00 – I vacuum my office and move pieces of furniture out of the room. Then, I vacuum the stairs.

1:00-2:00 – I have a pre-made spinach salad from yesterday and read Floating Feathers. L. steam-cleans the stairs and carpet in my office and I pay her $75

2:00-2:30 – I eat an orange and continue reading Floating Feathers.

2:30-5:30 – Blog posts. B. drops off a wooden pallet that he obtained from a grocery store for a garden project that I’m working on.

-L. leaves for Otis and I have some Girl Scout Thin Mints

5:30-6:15 – I take the dog for a walk and have two chocolate marshmallow Sees candies. I listen to True Crime Garage.

6:15-7:30 – In accordance with my Curated Closet project, I try on more items and discard.

8:00-8:45 – I do a 30-minute Insanity Max-Friday Fight workout.

-L. returns from school and leaves to spend the night at T.’s house.

9:00-12:00 – I report to my office and upload blog posts while listening to Core Class - Audio lecture Chapter 8 on double speed. I note my edits for L., then check College No. 1 email and update the Preference Form that I submitted last week. I email L. and ask her to transcribe the Core Class - Audio lecture Chapter 10.

-I spend some time compiling trash can options for the garage/art studio and send the links to L.

12:00-1:00 - In accordance with my Curated Closet project, I try on more items and discard. I start my nighttime routine.

1:00-2:45 – I unload and load the dishwasher and, unfortunately, start grazing. I have chips and pieces of cheese and some of the pork-fried rice I made the other day. I add a few crackers to that as I ready my coffee for tomorrow. I take the dog out and set the alarm. Return upstairs and I lay my clothes out for tomorrow.

-Bed. I set my alarm for 8:00 a.m.
