Day 6 - Mask mandate RESCINDED; we do NOT need to mask indoors

At the SoFi Stadium today…this place is incredible…

I saw this movie today…it sucked…

3/9/22. Wednesday

7:00-7:20 – My alarm goes off, but I lie in bed until 7:20.

7:20-7:35 – I go downstairs to greet the animal and she rolls over on her back so I can rub her tummy.  Eventually, I cue her to go outside and we head for the patio while I wait for her to go potty. Return inside and cheese for her, coffee for me.  I chop some cheese and add to my bag of walnuts for a snack.  I also chop some zuchinni slices.

7:35-8:45 – Shower. I sit in the shower, drink my coffee, and ice my eyes, while listening to The Daily and PBS Newshour segments. Lotion. I put on jeans, a True Crime Garage T-shirt, a long sweater, and my Airwalkers.

8:45-9:15 – Driving to B.’s house

9:15-11:00 – Arrive at B.’s house, along with B.’s friends, R. and L. We leave for our scheduled SoFi Stadium tour. B. bought the tickets and does the driving.

11:00-1:30 – The SoFi Stadium is incredible!  The Super Bowl was just played at this location and it’s a few blocks away from the Charter School where I teach on Tuesdays and Thursdays – it’s also 3 miles from LAX, which means it’s 3 miles from Otis.  A few fun facts: the SoFi Stadium holds 70,000 people, but can expand to accommodate up to 100,000 for major events.  It opened on 9/8/20 and cost between $5 and $6 billion to build. It. is. huge. There’s also an attached music and theatre venue, known as the You Tube Theater which seats 6000.

One of the most amazing features is the Infinity Screen by Samsung. The screen is a double-sided circle comprised of video panels and suspended from the roof.  The game is projected onto the panels and you can see the plays from ANY spot in the stadium, and if you’re flying in, on an airplane. A large man-made lake surrounds most of the SoFi Stadium and the lake is used to provide water to the landscaping.  Our tour guide tells us that each landscaping section represents an important geographical location in California, from the desert, to the beach, to the redwoods, etc.

-Part of the tour includes running through the same tunnel that the players run through as they come out on the field. We actually get to stand on the football field. Ken tries to kick a field goal and throws a football through a hoop, just like the players do. Some people are trying to run the 30-yard dash. I can’t believe I’m on the actual field where the Super Bowl was just played! The Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers share the SoFi Stadium and we get to tour both locker rooms and see how the players fare on game day. You can’t exit this place without going through a gift shop (of course) and basic T-shirts and hoodies are selling for over $100. I keep walking.

1:30-2:45- Driving.

2:45-4:00 - We have lunch at Olive Terrace and I have the calamari appetizer for my entrée and two glasses of Prosecco. The calamari is especially good.

4:00-4:30 – Return to B.’s house and L. and R. say their good-byes.

4:30-6:45 – B. and I watch the movie Fresh.

This was my pick and it’s disgusting.  The female protagonist meets a handsome, charismatic, single, white male in the produce section of Whole Paycheck and after two brief dates, she agrees to accompany him on a trip to his “cabin in the woods.”  Uh-oh.  Before she leaves, she tells her best friend where she’s going – this is an important plot point and her best friend is black. You do the math. Once they arrive at the cabin, he chains her to the bed, preps her for surgery, and removes two huge pieces of her ass so he can make spaghetti.

Yes, dear reader, he’s a cannibal…but it’s not just him.  He ships the “meat” to other paying customers all over the world.  Turns out, he has two other girls chained up as well and he’s been slowly amputating their body parts to keep his “business” afloat.  Her black friend starts sniffing around and eventually she is captured, too. These are just three females in a sea of hundreds of women, all of whom are dead.  As if this isn’t bad enough…he’s married. I hated this movie and I give it a 0.

-L. texts me that she needs me to reimburse her for the lecture she transcribed ASAP so she can get gas.  I leave.

-6:45-7:20 – Home and I transfer $70 to L.

7:20-8:00 – I go to work. I set up the Module Home Page for my highschool class tomorrow and pack the papers from Specialty Class 1B in my bag so I can start grading them during the documentary I’m showing tomorrow morning.

8:00-9:30 – Kitchen duty and I ready my coffee and make a tuna salad for my lunch bag. I dust off two cabinets, clean out a vase of flowers, and take the dog out.

9:30-10:30 – Nighttime routine. I work on my bullet journal and L. texts me that she’s dropping off her friend, A., and will stop by the house to pick up clothes because she’s spending the night at T.’s

10:30-11:00 – I wait for L. to return so I can lock up behind her, after she leaves.

11:00-11:30 – I do more bullet journaling, but I keep falling asleep.

11:30-12:00 – I wake up when I hear the garage door rolling up, but L. never comes into the house. At 12:00, I look out the window and see that L.’s car is parked in the driveway…it’s all very confusing and I’m not sure what’s going on.

12:00-12:30 – I take the dog out again, lock up everything, and set the alarm.

12:30-1:00 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
