Day 10-All CA students must be vaccinated

I put up the interior Halloween decorations today…

10/10/21. Sunday

8:30- L. leaves for her private art lesson, followed by work at the Art Studio.

9:30-10:00 – I’m up, so I go downstairs to greet the animal. L. took her out before she left so the dog is awake and running around.  I stick with the same routine, even though she was just outside, which means she jumps on the couch and rolls over on her back so I can rub her tummy. When she’s ready, she grabs her toy and we go outside where I stand around while she runs around. This routine gets old. Return inside and cheese for her; coffee for me.

I’m at the point in my life where I can take it or leave it with the Halloween decorations…especially the exterior decorations.  When I share this with L., she is devastated and says, “No!  We have to put up the Halloween decorations!  We love Halloween!” Translation: “YOU [meaning me] have to put up the Halloween decorations.” I’m acutely aware that L. will provide no help, whatsoever, with this endeavor. I’m also acutely aware that I’m exhausted…like, most of the time.  I wonder if this is due to my age?? It’s unclear.

L. is my little girl and Halloween decorations make her happy, so I will be putting up the interior Halloween decorations today.

10:00-11:00 – The downstairs is dirty and I hate putting holiday decorations on top of dusty surfaces.  I’m known for saying, “We need a clean base” meaning I won’t put decorations out unless all surfaces are clean. L. is very aware of this phrase. I spend this hour vacuuming the entire downstairs, then I go along the sides of the wall/floor with one of the vacuum attachments to make sure I got all of the dust and debris.

11:00-11:30 – I clean out the refrigerator, wrap L.’s knock-off, Starbuck’s lemon loaf before it goes bad, and place it in the freezer. I listen to The Waves, What Next, Today Explained, and PBS Newshour while I’m working.

11:30-12:30 – I take a break to eat my leftover chicken and waffles from Flights. I grade papers and listen to The Daily – the Sunday Special.

12:30-4:15 – I dust all of the surfaces downstairs, pull down the Halloween decorations from the top shelf in the garage, and set everything up. All of this honestly takes four hours.

4:15-5:00 – Shower. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform. Light make-up

5:00-6:00 – I take the dog for a walk.  When I return, I put my trash cans out and eat a few tortilla chips.

6:00-6:15 – I spend this time trying to put my duvet/comforter set back together after the dog pee incident.

6:15-10:30 – B. comes over for cocktail hour and we watch an episode of the documentary LulaRich. B. is accompanying his daughter to Texas for neck surgery in the coming days and will be assisting with her recovery. B. leaves.

10:30-11:00 – I read Digital Minimalism.

11:00-11:30 – I do a 30-minute Insanity Max – Sweat, but “max out” after 22 minutes because I’m so exhausted.

11:30-12:30 – Grade papers.

12:30-1:00 – I accidentally fall asleep.

1:00-1:30 – I try again to grade papers, but it’s not going well.

1:30-2:30 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
