Day 9-All CA students must be vaccinated

Grading papers…what a drag!

10/9/21. Saturday

San Francisco announces that they plan on lifting mask mandates at gyms so long as gym-goers are vaccinated, while, simultaneously, public health experts and scientists are telling the American people that vaccine immunity starts waning 6 months after your second dose. Didn’t San Francisco learn anything from the AIDS epidemic? Why would they remove the mask mandate in gyms now? What a mistake.  For those who got the vaccine in April, their immunity should be tapering off right about…NOW. Just in time to enter the gym sans mask where they can cough and vomit on people as they’re working out. At some point, will these places start requiring proof you received the vaccine AND the booster?  When will it end?

8:00 – L. leaves for work.

Today’s a catch-up day, since I was gone most of this week. There’s a lot to do…

8:00-8:30 – I’m up so I go downstairs to say Good Morning to the dog. She pooped in front of the door (sigh). Maybe she’s mad at me because I left her for three days. I clean it up and then I sit with the dog on the couch and rub her tummy for several minutes.  Finally, she jumps off the couch, grabs her toy, and outside we go. I check my plants while she goes potty. Once she’s gone, we return inside: cheese for her; coffee for me. I go upstairs.

8:30-9:30- I read Digital Minimalism

9:30-10:30 – I left a stack of papers to grade when I left for Las Vegas so I start the grading process. I finish drying my comforter from last night’s dog pee incident.

10:30-11:30 – Blog posts

11:30-12:30 – I eat my leftover breakfast quesadillas from Blondies and continue grading papers. Half-way into it, the smoke detector starts beeping so I change the batteries.

12:30-1:30 – Shower. Wash my hair. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform.

1:30-2:15 – I take the dog for a walk.

2:15-4:00 – I’ve been gone for several days so I need to catch up on “Life Admin.”

-Elite Builders emailed me door samples for my garage, so I review and make my selection.

-I email a Home Security Alarm vendor that B. recommended. Recall that my house alarm deactivated and I’m unable to set it.

-I text “Chris”, the electrician, and tell him that “Frank” hung the light panels and they are ready to be wired.

-I find a hiking tour guide – Bikes and Hikes – at the Griffith Observatory and review the information. The hike in question, which is the easiest one I could find, is billed as “fun for the whole family” and “6-year-olds and up can  hike this trail.” It’s definitely an option – unfortunately, it’s $50 per person.

-I email the Volunteer Coordinator at my library to see if there are any volunteer openings. Due to their lackadaisical attitude, It’s so obvious this is not going to happen.

4:00-5:00 – Grade papers.  I eat cheese and crackers while I’m grading. I listen to the Political Gabfest and the Pop Culture Happy Hour, then start a load of laundry.

L. returns from work, but leaves shortly thereafter to meet M., her friend from Otis, at the Topanga Mall for dinner at El Fornaino.

6:30-7:00 – Grade papers

7:00-7:30 – I do a 30-minute, Insanity Max – Tabata Power workout.

7:30-8:00 – Recover and I have a glass of champagne.

8:00-10:30 – Gardening. The backyard is a mess!  I rake and sweep the leaves, then water all of my plants. I listen to Spooked, Be Wealthy and Smart, the Culture Gabfest, Organize 365, and What a Day while I’m working.

-L. returns. I want her input on the door selections and I show her the choices.

10:30-11:00 – I re-heat my fish and vegetables from the Top of the World restaurant and read Digital Minimalism.

11:00-1:15 – Blog posts.  I listen to The Daily.

1:30-2:15 – Bullet journal.

2:15-3:00 – I upload my post to the blog and listen to Hurry Slowly.

3:00-4:00 – Nighttime routine. Bed. I listen to Case File.
