Day 11-Monkey Pox is the new pandemic
8/14/22. Sunday
9:30-10:00 - I take the dog out, do the few dishes left in the sink from yesterday, and make coffee.
10:00-11:30-Shower. Ice. Lotion. Athletic housewife attire: I wear cheetah-print leggings (tan with black spots) and a rust t-back tank top. I paint my toe nails.
11:30-12:30-L. and I arranged to meet at 11:30 so she can edit my Audio lectures for Specialty Class 1A. She’s up and we go downstairs to my office where she edits just TWO Audio lectures because one of the lectures has upwards of 40 edits. L. Is billing me at her lower $20 hourly rate for these tasks. We arrange to meet tomorrow at 3:00 to finish the job.
-12:30-4:30-I listen to more Audio lectures and make notes where L needs to cut.
Life Admin:
-A $3000 check I wrote to my credit card company is missing. They never got it.
-I haven’t had cellular data for my Ipad this entire month - it is unclear why but there must be some technical glitch. I’m paying for a service I don’t have and I need to cancel Verizon.
-The items I returned to Target on Friday still haven’t posted to my account.
-I clean out my Inbox and devise a filing system that is better organized:
Red folder for action items or tickets for upcoming events;
Yellow for pending events
Blue for things I’m interested in doing but haven’t vetted or started the project yet.
4:30-7:00-The backyard and patio is a mess. I sweep everything, including the red-rock beds, spray the AstroTurf and water all my plants. I cut dead foliage from several plants and clean out the pots.
7:00-8:00 - I have $75 in Kohls cash that I need to use today. I planned to buy pants that match my “silhouette” in accordance with the Curated Closet Project so I go to Nordstrom Rack.com first, scroll through hundreds of pants, and put the ones I like in my shopping bag. I listen to one of my Audio Lectures while I do that and note where I need to edit.
8:00-8:15-I drive to Kohls but it’s closed. Oh no! What about my coupons? They expire tonight. great.
8:25-8:30-I pull out money for my upcoming Friday therapy session
8:30-9:00-I drive to CVS to use my coupon. it’s going to expire tonight so I but an eyelash curler because I cannot find mine anywhere, a hair clip that turns out to be too heavy and big for my hair so it’s a “purchase mistake”, and some coconut milk for my coffee because I’m all out.
9:00-9:30-I get gas. it’s at $5.39 a gallon and costs me $47 to fill up.
9:30-10:00-Drive home.
10:00-10:45 - L. and I take the dog for a walk and she tells me about her day.
10:45-11:30-After we return from walking the dog, I ask L. to go through my online Nordstroms Rack shopping bag and give me a thumbs up or thumbs down on the pants I selected in accordance with my Curated Closet Project.
11:30-12:15-I’m able to use my Kohls cash online so I go through the site and select pants similar to the pants I just selected at the Nordstrom’s Rack. I put five pairs of pants into My Kohls shopping bag. I call L. downstairs to get her seal of approval and she narrows my selections down to two.
-I order two pairs of pants from Kohl’s and seven pairs from Nordstrom’s Rack. I won’t keep them all, of course. Probably only three or four will fit.
12:15-1:00-I do a 10-min Insanity-Ab workout and a 30-minute Insanity-Power workout but I tap out after 26 minutes.
1:00-1:45-I finish adjusting the dates in my Syllabus.
1:45-2:45- I take a nap on my office couch.
2:45-4:30-I update the Modules in Canvas, for my Core Class, using the Syllabus as a guide.
2:00-3:00- I check email at College No. 2 and update two students’ scores. They were late in completing a Discussion Board assignment, but I let them submit it to me after the due date because both students are 1% away from getting a B in the class and the semester is ending.
Three of my students didn’t take the Final on Thursday, even though I noted it in the Syllabus, posted an Announcement, and sent everyone an email blast. They want to take the Final now, three days after it was due. No.
4:30-5:30-Nighttime routine. Bed. I kick the dog out of my room tonight.
