Day 16 - BA2.12.1 is the current variant

B. and I ate at Popping Yolk for brunch today…

North Korea finally admitted that they’re in the midst of a Covid-19 outbreak…sort of.  North Korean Army Medics were deployed to treat what they’re calling “cases of fever.”  At least North Korea actually did something to help their people. Medics are going door-to-door to provide assistance to Koreans they heard were sick and govt. employees in HazMat suits are spraying the subways with disinfectant.

Sure…maybe North Korea’s advice to the citizenry is a little sketchy – gargle with salt, drink herbal tea, and take “pain killers” - but no more sketchier than the janky advice we Americans got…

During the early months of the pandemic, my Federal Government, to include the CDC, the FDA, the Surgeon General, and Anthony Fauci, told my fellow Americans that masking didn’t work [lie], Asymptomatic people are NOT contagious [another lie], and the best way to protect ourselves was to wash our hands constantly and clean all surfaces with a Clorox wet wipe [still more lies].

North Korean citizens report cleaning their living spaces with rubbing alcohol…

At least Kim Jong Un declared a national emergency, after 2.5 million North Koreans got sick. Two months after the virus hit, Trump said he expected to see “packed pews” in our churches on Easter Sunday.

Seriously…our Federal Govt’s propaganda machine is just as bad as North Korea’s propaganda machine. A few differences…the  CDC, who happens to be in the pockets of Big Pharma, doubled down on the vaccine and told the American people to get the jab STAT, whereas Kim Jong Un has refused to order the vaccine for his country. Looks like he’s confident that gargling with salt water will get the job done.

5/27/22. Friday

6:30-7:00-My alarm goes off at 6:30, but I need transition time. I don’t get up until 7:00 am.

7:00-7:15-I finally crawl out of bed and go downstairs to say good morning to the animal. I start my coffee while she’s still asleep and then I sit next to her and rub her tummy. We head outside so she can go potty. It’s cloudy today. Then, back inside after she’s done. Cheese for her; coffee for me. I grab a bag of ice and go upstairs.

7:15-7:30-I try to download several podcasts on my Ipad, but it’s not working.

7:30-8:30-Spa day. When I’m done shaving and washing my hair, I sit in the shower, lean my head against the tiles, drink my coffee, and ice my eyes. Lotion. Jeans and a long-sleeved, teal, Athletic Housewife shirt, with an open-toed wedge.

8:30-9:00-Full make-up and I curl my hair. I put another coat of polish on my toes.

9:00-11:00-B. arrives and we go to brunch at a new restaurant in Pasadena called Popping Yolks. We follow the GPS but when we get into town we can’t find it and end up parking and wandering around Colorado Street for some time. We finally locate the restaurant after stumbling around back alleys and various one-way streets - I’m in a wedge so my feet hurt by the time we’re able to sit down. Although indoors, this is a large, open space, with lots of room between the tables. Staff are masking, but customers gave that up a couple months ago. The restaurant is full. I order the Hot Chicken Poached Egg and B. gets the French Toast. We both get mimosas. The food is truly amazing. I have a few pieces of B.s French Toast and it’s the best French Toast I’ve ever had!

11:00-12:00 - We leave and drive to B.’s house.

12:00-4:00-B. and I talk politics at his patio table and stare at his golf-course backyard; then

4:30-6:30-we watch two episodes of the Bosch Legacy series.

6:30-7:00-B. drives me home.

7:00-7:30-I have a few bites of L.’s pasta salad that she made yesterday because I still haven’t had a chance to taste the dish. It’s very good.

7:30-9:30-I lie down and promptly fall asleep.

9:30-10:00-At some point, L. surfaces from wherever she was and is in bed for the night. I’m not feeling well for whatever reason. I planned on doing a Nature Botany Walk at the Placerita Canyon Nature Center tomorrow morning at 9:00 but I don’t think this is going to happen. I take the dog out and almost faint while waiting for her on my patio-odd. I lock up and barely make it upstairs.

10:00-10:30-Nightime routine and I listen to Dateline. Bed
