Day 17 - Mask mandate RESCINDED. We do NOT need to mask indoors.

Same old, same old…some days nothing much happens…

3/20/22. Sunday

6:00 – 6:30 - I’m awake, but I turn on a podcast and go back to sleep.

9:00-9:30 – I lie in bed for the next 30 minutes.

9:30-10:30 – I go downstairs to say good morning to the animal and she’s already at the foot of the stairs, waiting for me.  This is usually a sign that she pooped next to the front door. Yep – there it is (sigh). We go outside and I walk the property and check on my plants.

-I make coffee. Kitchen duty. I unload the dishwasher, do the dishes, and sweep the floors.

10:30-12:00 – I read The Nature Fix and have some of my Mom’s banana bread. I talk to B. briefly about filing a report regarding a RV with expired tags that is illegally parked outside of Otis, L.’s art school. There are 3 old, decrepit RVs parked between the dorms and the Otis parking lot and it’s obvious the RVs are occupied by squatters.  Unfortunately, a moratorium against moving RVs if people are obviously living in them was announced by LA County Dept of Public Health when Covid-19 hit and broken down RVs and busses, some with holes in their siding, started parking in long lines in LA, wherever they wanted, and dumping their waste in the street and in neighbors’ yards.

12:00-1:30 – Shower. I have coffee and ice my eyes. Lotion. Yoga pants and a T-shirt. No make-up.

1:30-2:30- I do meal prep so I have my food items ready for next week, pack my lunch bag, and ready my coffee. I take the chicken out to thaw for a recipe I’m going to try.

2:30-3:30 – Bullet journal. It is sooo windy, I’m unable to put out my trash cans or take the dog for a walk.

3:30-5:00 – I take a nap. What’s wrong with me?

5:30-11:00 – I go through the 4000+ personal emails that I’ve allowed to accumulate and do my best to clean out my inbox.

Life Administration

-College No. 2 reached out to me and asked if I would teach an 8-week Spring Semester Interim Session Core Class, starting April 16. I don’t have much time to get an accelerated class together, but I agree.

-My tax preparer finally emailed my taxes to me so I print them out.

-I’m late on a credit card payment. I have the money – it was simply an oversight. great.

-Mr. Cooper, my loan servicer, says I owe an extra $55 on my mortgage account and I’m going to be charged with a late fee. I have no idea what “Mr. Cooper” is talking about.

-I try to order free tickets for the Japanese Garden in Van Nuys, but have difficulty accessing the website.

-I need to fix my tattoo and try to schedule an appointment at Supersweet Tattoos and Coffee, but I can’t seem to navigate their website.

Work Administration

-I check course content for both classes tomorrow, then set up the Discussion Boards.

- I check email at both Colleges.

-I’m at the point in the semester where it is time to “thin the herd.” I send a personal email to every student who is getting a D or F in the class, currently, and inform them that the last day to drop with a “W” is 4/8/22. Two of my students CAN’T BELIEVE they are getting an F, even though one of the female students freely admits that she got a new job and wasn’t keeping up with her assignments.

11:00-1:00 – Blog post and bullet journal.

1:00-2:00 – I accidentally fall asleep.

2:00-3:00 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
