Day 19 - the WHO names Omicron a “variant of interest”

Decorating the garage in preparation for the Xmas dinner…

12/13/21. Monday

6:00 – L. leaves for her 12-hour day at Otis.

9:30-10:00 – I go downstairs to say good morning to the dog; she’s asleep on the couch and there is poop next to the front door. This is so irritating. I sit next to her on the couch and rub her tummy until she’s finally ready to go outside.  She grabs her toy and we head to the backyard where I see that she pooped in two places on the patio.  Can I just say how tired I am of picking up dog shit? Return inside and coffee for me; cheese for her.  I go upstairs.

10:30-12:00 – bullet journal

12:00-1:00 – I have my leftover angel hair Cheka from Marios and read Deep Work.

1:00-2:00 – Shower. Wash hair. Lotion. Blow-dry hair. I put on a tank top, sweater, and corduroys. Light make-up.

2:00-4:00 – I bring in my trashcans, hang copper-colored ornaments on the flocked tree in the garage, in preparation for the Xmas dinner that I’m holding; hang gold ornaments on the topiaries by the front door; fold and put away my laundry; wash and dry the couch slipcover; break down the boxes  containing Xmas gifts and supplies that arrived yesterday; and leaf-blow the garage. While I’m working outside, “Pudge” and his Mom [owner] walk by and I stop what I’m doing to pet him and say “Hi!”  I don’t know his owner’s name.  A few minutes after that, “Hannah” and her Dad [owner] walk by and I stop what I’m doing to compliment her new hair cut. I don’t know her owner’s name.

4:00-8:00

Life Admin

-I log all of my expenditures for June, July, and August, then load the grand totals into my Excel spreadsheet.

-Check on the two workbenches [tables] I ordered from Wayfair and the regular benches I ordered from Walmart for seating.  Where are they?

-I upload a blog post

-I receive an email from the coordinator for the Hiking class offered through the City of Santa Clarita regarding alternative dates for hiking.  Currently, she is only offering the hiking class on Tuesdays, which conflicts with the Docent Naturalist training program, as well as my Inglewood high school class. She says if things change, she will let me know.

-I check the catalog to see if there are other hiking classes led by different instructors, but there are no other options.

-I research “Beach Cycle” classes [spin cycle classes on the beach] and review the website.

-I research “Goat Yoga” and review the website.

-I hole-punch several invoices from my garage conversion project and file in the new Household Binder that I’ve created.

-I check the Spring 2022 Schedule of Classes at College No. 1. Enrollment is so low, it’s likely that none of these classes will run. It looks like it’s going to be a lean semester for me…

-I have The Organized Money You Tube videos running in the background while I work.  Her You Tube channel is also about planners and planning – it’s more than just budgeting.

 Work

-I check email at College No. 2 to see if the Word document containing the Fall 2021 Semester  grades/percentages for the highschoolers that I emailed to the high school liaison will suffice. Earlier in the month, she mentioned something about putting the grades in a spreadsheet, which I did not want to do since that would be too time-consuming. I see that she responded with a very nice thank you, adding that she looks forward to working with me again in the future. I’ve always liked Mrs. B.!

-I send an email to the Dual Enrollment Coordinator at College No. 2, asking if I can switch the Spring Semester 2022 teaching days from T/TH to M/W.

-I complete a CE training on Sexual Harassment.

9:30-10:00 – I talk to B.

10:00-11:00 – L. returns home and she tells me that she is having car problems again and needs me to follow her to Trident Auto at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow so she can drop off her car. She shows me the “artist’s statement” that she wrote for the piece she just completed…a 1960’s female who is staring at and objectifying three creepy guys, all of which is featured on a bright, yellow background.  I love the piece.

11:00-11:30 – I read Deep Work.

11:30-12:30 – bullet journal

12:30-1:00 – I start working on a blog post; and

1:00-3:00 – …accidentally fall asleep.

3:30-4:30 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
