Day 3 - LA County moves into yellow tier

Teacher Appreciation Week…

Teacher Appreciation Week…

5/5/21. Wed

9:00 –9:30- I’m awake but I have terrible cramps so I take two Advil and stay in bed until it kicks in. I weigh 100.5 today. Downstairs to make coffee and take the dog out. I rub her tummy three times, she grabs her toy, and we go outside. I’m doubled over the patio chair, waiting for her to go potty, but she just keeps chasing birds. I give up and go inside. I start my coffee and give her rotten chicken for her treat.

9:30-10:45 - I’m in terrible pain, so I grab my coffee and go upstairs. Slowly but surely I get dressed in my Covid-19 uniform, but I don’t have the energy to put on make-up. Check my lunch bag to make sure I have snacks and leave.

10:45–11:00 – Gas station - I put in $20

11:00-12:15 – It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, so I drive to College No. 2 for my free lunch [it’s from an Italian restaurant!!] and cookie. College No. 2 is quite far, past LAX. In fact, I forgot how long the drive is. If College No. 2 decides the teachers are returning face to face in the Fall, I will need to make some decisions…On the way to College No. 2, I pass Otis Art School - it’s right next to LAX. I didn’t realize Otis was near LAX…this will be a terrible drive for L. when she starts commuting to class. Oh no.

-Arrive at College No. 2 and go through the drive-thru to get my pre-ordered chicken salad, with baked bread, and strawberries. College No. 2 also throws in a free cookie and two bottled waters. The volunteers are so nice - everyone is masked.

12:15 – 12:35 - I drive to the city park, right next door to College No. 2, and arrange my salad so I can eat it on the way home.

12:35-1:45 – Driving. I eat my lunch on the way. The salad is very good; bread freshly baked; strawberries are fresh. The cookie is just okay…I don’t finish it.

1:45 – 4:00 - My cramps are so bad, I’m completely incapacitated and have to lie down. Two more Advil.

-L. goes to work.

4:00-5:15 – I take the dog for a walk.

5:15 –5:45 - I check email at Colleges No. 1 and 2.

5:45-9:00  - I review the online grade book, then generate separate lists of the final semester grades for my three classes. I pull attendance for each class because I have to note the last date each student attended [It’s usually the day of the Final, but not always]. Then, I input Spring Semester 2021 grades for Core Class No. 1 and No. 2 and Specialty Class 1A.

-L. surfaces. Because Mothers Day and my birthday are back-to-back, L. says I will be receiving gifts from her every other day for the next week. How nice! Today’s give is “Peach Bellini hand sanitizer” from Bath and Body Works. I love it!

9:00-10:30 – Gardening.  I sweep the patio and water all of my plants

10:30-12:00 – Kitchen duty. Amazon delivered the dog food, so I unpack it. I arrange the extension cords I decided to keep in a small basket I found in the garage.

12:00-1:00 – I’m exhausted and I don’t feel well. I go upstairs and listen to The Fall Line, while eating 1 boiled egg and 2 apple slices with almond butter. Note: this is going to cost me and tomorrow I will weigh 101.

1:30-2:30 – I accidentally fall asleep.

2:30-3:30 - Night time routine. Bed.
