Day 5 - Mask mandate is rescinded in California

Angel Island…

Immigration Station…

6/19/21. Saturday.

9:00-3:30 - B. and I take a ferry to Angel’s Island, rent bikes, and take the bike path around the entire peninsula. We stop at the Welcome Center; the Immigration Station where Chinese immigrants were routinely detained, sometimes for years; and explore the crumbling ruins of Ft. McDowell (aka East Garrison).

7:30-10:00 - After, we have dinner at Perry’s Restaurant, in Larkspur, with J. and A. We dine outside and it is just like having dinner in an enchanted forest!! I kept looking for fairies and Snow White while I ate. I order the sole with steamed zucchini/yellow squash and mashed potatoes and a small bowl of clam chowder - everything is so good and I have leftovers to bring home. I also have a glass of Prosecco.

10:00-11:00 - Nighttime routine. Bed.
