Day 7-All CA students must be vaccinated

B. and I saw Terry Fator today…

10/7/21. Thursday

9:00–10:30 -  I sleep in today and it feels great!  I make coffee for B. and I, then sit on the couch and look out the window at the beautiful view. If you haven’t figured it out yet, after reading the hundreds of posts on this blog, I like a slow, easy morning.

10:30-11:30 – Shower. Lotion. Light make-up. I wear a dress today.

11:30-12:30 – I eat my leftover breakfast burrito from Flights and B. has…something? B. suggests that we check out Conrad – a casino recommended to us by an Uber driver. Apparently, construction just finished and the Uber driver said the casino was incredible, especially with what he referred to as “street food”, which I actually find out is NOT street food at all, but rather 16 stalls of Asian-food vendors, on a simulated street in China [inside the casino], where you walk up and place your order. Allegedly, your order is ready in 3 to 5 minutes, similar to American food trucks – B. and I didn’t have time to check it out.

12:30-4:00 - B. and I go downstairs to the parking garage so B. can call an Uber. It arrives within minutes and takes us across town to Conrad. We enter the casino and park it at the bar, where B. and I play video poker for the next few hours so we can get free drinks.  I have no idea how to play video poker so I just keep pushing buttons – I make my $20 last a looonnnggg time. Again, the staff are masked but none of the patrons are masked because they are “actively drinking.” This is why I don’t like sitting at the bar anymore – too risky.

4:00 – 5:00 - B. and I leave the casino and B. calls an Uber. It arrives within minutes and we drive back to our hotel room.

5:00 – 6:00 - I touch up my make-up and have more leftovers, but we really need to get moving if we’re going to make the Terry Fator show – we have tickets for 7:30.

6:30-7:00 – Downstairs and B. calls an Uber. New York, New York is right around the corner, so we arrive pretty quickly. I’ve been trying to see Terry Fator for over 10 years, but every time I’ve been in Vegas, the theater is dark. B. scored these tickets and I’m pretty excited about it.

7:00-7:30 – At the venue and B. buys us a round of drinks.

7:30-9:30 – The show begins. Terry Fator is a master ventriloquist and has a cast of muppets with varying personalities. His mouth truly Does. Not. Move. It’s amazing!

This is a fun-for-the-whole-family show which I really appreciate after the sexually explicit material coming out of Absinthe last night. The only creepy part of the show is when the song, “I’m Proud to be an American” started playing. Whenever you hear this song, you can bet you’re in a room full of right-wing, MAGA, Trump-supporters, i.e., racists and closeted, white supremacists who are typically…nuts. I’m shocked at Terry’s political position – I expected more from him. At least everyone is masked.

9:30-10:30 – Return to our hotel room and I watch Forensic Files while I pack.

10:30-10:45 – I check course content for tomorrow.

10:45-11:15 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
