Day 9 - LA County moves into yellow tier
Il Cielo Restaurant…
5/11/21. Tuesday
7:30 – 8:00 - Ugh. This is too early. I need transition time so I lay in bed for the next 30 minutes. I weigh 99 pounds today.
8:00-8:20 – I go downstairs to say good morning to the animal. She’s still asleep on the couch, but rolls over so I can pet her tummy three times. She grabs her toy and we go outside, but she has picked up a scent and is too distracted to go potty. I stand around while she tracks the scent – I think it’s the rat – until she finally does her business. Return inside and two pieces of L.’s rigatoni for the dog; coffee for me. I go upstairs.
8:20-9:15 – Shower. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform. Light make-up. I grab my lunch bag and what’s left of my coffee and leave for my therapy session. I listen to Market Place.
9:15-9:30 – Driving. I listen to What Next.
9:30-10:00 – Session. It goes well but it stresses me out to sit inside a room and talk to someone for 30 minutes with no mask, ventilation, or fan.
10:00-10:30 – Driving
10:30-11:00 – Home and I have a few pieces of dark chocolate from Saturday’s charcuterie box, then take the dog for a walk. I listen to Best of Both Worlds. Some asshole is washing his car – our HOA doesn’t allow this because the run-off can enter the lake across the street and hurt the wildlife – AND blasting country music, of all things. I feel like calling Security but I don’t.
11:00-12:00 – I have cheese, crackers, and leftover cold cuts from the charcuterie box and read Raising a Thief.
12:00-1:30 – I’m so exhausted, I simply have to lie down. I take a short nap.
1:30-2:00 – N. arrives because he and L. are going to work on their homework together. I take the opportunity to use N. and L. to help me roll out an Oriental carpet under my dining room table. L. and I put the carpet in the hall closet three years ago, after we ‘ordered’ the dog from the puppy mill, but now I need to put it back where it belongs, which is under my dining room table. I’m converting the garage into an art studio for L. and I need to make space in the hall closet so I can move some of the Xmas decorations from the garage into the closet.
2:00-3:00 – Work on the garage. I move items from my four shelving units onto ONE shelving unit. I’m ready to unload the shelving units now.
3:00-4:00 – I water my plants. I listen to Vox Wordly.
4:00-5:00 – Change clothes. I wear a sleeveless top that ties around my neck; cream colored slacks; and my wedge heels. I curl my hair and put on a shit-ton of make-up like I did yesterday.
5:00-6:15 – B. arrives and we drive to Il Cielo in Beverly Hills for my birthday dinner.
-Driving
6:15-9:00 – This place is incredible! Waitstaff are masking and patrons are, too, until they sit down at the table. This is outdoor dining…and it feels just like I’m in Italy, dining al fresco on a beautiful terrace. There are lemon trees in big pots, lots of vines climbing the walls, and fountains all over the place. Most impressive are the beautiful chandeliers suspended above us, seemingly attached to the sky…how did they hang the chandeliers in this open-air space? I love it.
I get the cream broccoli soup and B. and I split a Cesar salad. For our first course, we split Bucatini al Pesto and Chicken Milanese follows. I have three glasses of amazing Prosecco and we have Biscotti for desert. The meal is…FABULOUS!!! [insert the “chef’s kiss” emoji here]. There are hardly any leftovers to take home.
9:00-10:00 – Driving. I fall asleep in the car. I’ve been so tired lately…
10:00 – 10:30 - Home. B. drops me off and I talk to L. for a little bit. I take the dog out and while we’re outside, I see the rat run up the tree. OMG! Lock up.
10:30-11:15 – Nighttime ritual. I listen to Counterclock. Bed.
