Day 10 - LA County moves into yellow tier
Dinner at B.’s…
5/12/21. Wednesday.
9:00-9:30 – I rarely sleep in this long. I’m at 100 pounds this morning but that’s to be expected. Up and I go downstairs to say good morning to the animal. She can hear the HOA gardeners working in our neighborhood and won’t stop barking. When she sees me, she jumps on the couch so I can rub her tummy three times, and then she grabs her toy so we can go outside. The dog is tracking a scent again and keeps alerting on a section of shrubs against my back wall. I think the rats have a nest there, but I’m not sure. I’m too scared to look. She finally goes potty and we go inside – cold cuts from the charcuterie board for her; coffee for me. I go upstairs.
9:30-10:30 – I grade the F-student’s essay assignment.
10:30-1:00 – Blog posts. I have apples and almond butter.
1:00 – 2:00 – I read Raising a Thief.
2:00-4:00 – I have to post the Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) for College No. 1 to Lumen, our software program, but it’s not user friendly so I spend time figuring out how to input the data. I already prepared the SLOs on Monday; now all I have to do is load the outcomes for each student. The deadline is this Friday. I have 5 pita crackers and some hummus.
-I load the SLOs for my three classes at College No. 1, but now I have to scan semester grades and attendance sheets for each class to Admissions and Records. The deadline is also this Friday.
-I scan the student’s essay that I graded this morning [College No. 2], post her grade to the online grade book, and email her the graded assignment. Her semester grade rose to 56% - I don’t understand why she’s still here.
4:00-5:00 – N. arrives. He and L. start playing a video game on the Nintendo switch. I move a few things from the garage into the hall closet. I throw a cover for a large Xmas decoration in the washing machine.
5:00-5:30 – I do a 15-minute Insanity-Cardio Abs workout and recover.
5:30-6:45. Shower. Spa day. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform. Light make-up. I pack my overnight bag and bring it down to the car. I pack my lunch bag, too. I listen to By the Book.
6:45-7:15 – Leave for B.’s. I listen to What a Day.
-Driving
7:15-9:00 – At B’s. Cocktail hour and B. and I talk politics.
9:00-10:30 – Dinner is a salad, salmon, and white rice. It’s quite good.
10:30-12:00 – We watch The Crime of the Century, but it’s somewhat boring to me and I feel like I’m back in high school, in an anatomy/physiology class, learning about science or biology.
12:00-1:00 – Night time routine. Bed.
