Day 15 of LAUSD vaccine mandate
Friday…a workday…
9/24/21. Friday
7:30- My alarm goes off, but I turn it off.
9:30 –10:00 - I’m up. I know it’s a little late since class starts at 8:30, but the course content for my highschool class is programmed to deploy at 8:15 so it’s okay that I am just now reporting for duty. The students are listening to lecture right now.
I go downstairs immediately, greet the dog, and rub her tummy. Then we go outside and I wait for her to go potty. Inside and cheese for her; coffee for me. I go to my office immediately, drink my coffee, and send a check-in email to my highschoolers - this is the first time I’ve done that. Almost everyone responds with the wrong Google slide number. They are all behind, but I can’t quite figure out why, although one student admits that she was working on her psychiatry homework. No! She receives a harsh email response from me.
10:00-11:30 – I catch up on Attendance-last Wed and today - for my highschoolers, and last week’s Attendance for my other Asynchronous class at College No. 2. As usual, I send harsh emails to the college students who scored Ds or Fs on the video quiz – recall, that if you’ve watched the video, it’s impossible to earn a D/F on the quiz. There are three students who have not completed several weeks of assignments so I officially drop them.
11:30-2:30 – I’m exhausted and go back to bed.
2:30-3:30 – Bullet journal of my daily activities.
L. leaves for work. After, she is going to M.’s house, in Long Beach, to help her move.
3:30-4:30 – Shower. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform.
4:30-5:00 – I do a Kathy Smith – Ab workout
5:00-8:00 – I eat my leftover wrap and take this time to work on Specialty Class 1A at College No. 1. I review the Chapter 6 lecture in conjunction with the Google slides and make sure the questions in the Chapter 6 Review Quiz line up with the slides and Audio Lecture. I change four questions in the Chapter 6 Review Quiz which means I have to update the Midterm to ensure that the new questions I added to the Chapter 6 Review Quiz are reflected in the Midterm because the Midterm IS the Chapter Review quizzes. Then, I edit the slides. I need L. to add a graphic image to one of the slides.
I listen to a new media source that I might include in my Core Class. I’m not sure, yet.
8:00-8:45 – I take the dog for a walk – she wants to stay out longer than usual tonight.
9:00-10:30 – I read Work Won’t Love You Back.
10:30 – 11:00 – Although I hate Amazon and boycott them to the extent of my abilities, this is the only place that has the special battery I need for my security alarm door sensor. I can’t find it anywhere else and both B. and I have looked for it so I have to order it from Amazon. I need a few more items and I have to bump the cost of this order to the $50 threshold so I’m not charged shipping. I add an auxiliary cord; Too-Faced mascara; and the new-to-me Insanity 30 Max [each workout is only 30 minutes instead of an hour and I think this will be much more manageable for me with regard to my schedule.]
10:30-2:00 – I listen to the Chapter 8 lecture for my Core Class next week. L. needs to ‘splice and dice’ it at the front and the back and I note the times where she needs to cut it. The last 30 minutes of the AUDIO lecture needs to be scrapped because it contains data about the 2016 election. I research the stats and data concerning voter turnout in the 2020 election and manually make the changes on paper, for four slides, so L. can use my edits as a reference and insert the new data into the existing slides.
12:00 a.m. – L. returns from Long Beach after helping her friend move.
2:30-3:30 – I do a 1-hour 60-min Insanity Pylo workout.
3:30-5:30 – I sit in my chair for a MINUTE and wake up 2 hours later.
5:30-6:15 – Nighttime routine. Bed. I set my alarm for 7:30, unfortunately.
